This 2X
teleconverter is efficient tools to add focal length to the
photographer's arsenal. However, universal-type teleconverters have
certain limitations in performance when used with ultra-telephoto
lenses of 200mm or longer as compensation of chromatic aberration alone
becomes highly critical in this focal length range. The new PRO-series
teleconverters are specifically designed and optimized for use with
such ultra-telephoto lenses to deliver maximum resolution, contrast and
color rendition without degrading any aspect of the master lens
performance. The 2X doubles the focal length of the master lens and
makes the lens two f-stops slower. In addition to increasing focal
length, this teleconverter allows greater magnification in macro since
the Minimum Object Distance (MOD) of the master lens does not change
when used with the teleconverters.
- Placed between the camera body and lens, a
teleconverter contains a set of optics that will effectively increase
the focal length of any lens it is used with. The BOWER MC 7 AF
converter has the effect of doubling the focal length of your lens. For
example, using the MC 7 AF teleconverter with a 300 mm lens will
effectively increase the focal length to 600 mm.
- It is an easy and inexpensive way to
increase the abilities of your telephoto lens without the expense of
purchasing and carrying another telephoto lens. BOWER converters are
small and easy to carry in your camera bag.
- BOWER MC7 AF converters are made with high
quality multicoated optical glass supplied by Hoya Corporation, the
worlds largest manufacturer of optical glass.
- The MC 7 converter has genuine Gate Array IC
(Integrated Circuitry). It means that the converter's unique circuitry
maintains signal integrity between the camera body and lens. These
converters are designed to electronically operate the same way an
original manufacturer's converter would.
- Full AF operation with MC7 is
possible with camera lenses with open aperture of F/2.8 or brighter.
Please be aware that AF will work properly only if there is enough
light and contrast on the subject to activate the camera's AF sensors.
(Manual focusing is recommended when using lenses with smaller open
f-stop value than those given above.)
AF will be
retained with the 2X teleconverter if the master lens is F/4.0 or
faster. If
the aperture is slower, the in-focus lights will work but focusing must
be done manually.
The converter will work completely with
the auto-focus mechanisms of the camera as long as the maximum aperture
on the primary lens is f4 or wider.
The 2x DG Teleconverter (also known as a tele-extender) will multiply the focal length of the existing lens by 2x, and will cut back the amount of light by 2 f/stops. For example, using a 2x teleconverter with a 300 mm lens will effectively increase the focal length to 600 mm. A lens set to f/2.8 will now be f/5.6.
